SOCIAL EVENTS What’s a singles organization without social events! As a member of the Albany Singles Golf Association, you will find your social calendar filled with opportunities to meet people in the Capital Region.We meet almost EVERY Friday night at the Blu Stone Bistro across the street from the Desmond. Come meet us and learn more about ASGA!! The Social Committee keeps us busy with a full agenda of FUN events. Past years have seen events like the following.
ASGA holds monthly golf outings across the Capitol Region, with a "beginner-friendly" team format, dinner and prizes. Other weekends in season usually find 3-4 foursomes getting together for an "informal" round. A nine-hole walking group plays weekly after work. Previous years' calendars included outings at:
ASGA-Albany has also hosted a number of multi-chapter golf weekends in Albany, Lake Placid, Cape Cod and Myrtle Beach. We've joined Central Massachusetts and Hartford, Connecticut ASGA members for "seaside links" golf in Cape Cod, MA, weekends in the Pocono Mountains and weekends at Lake Morey, VT. For several years we participated in the Thruway Challenge with Rochester and Buffalo, bringing home the trophy in 2004 and again in 2005. ASGA Chapters are growing throughout the United States and Canada, providing opportunities for travel and golf at some top-quality courses. Members are always welcome to join other chapter's outings. Then there are fantastic ASGA multi-chapter golf events at Pinehurst, Myrtle Beach, Palm Springs, Orlando, Hilton Head, and many other fine golf resorts all over the USA. The group rates charged for golf and accomodations at these events are usually very affordable. Many Albany members join the National Group in Orlando for New Years every year and travel to other ASGA national events as schedules permit. We're a local club, with all the benefits of a national organization!
ASGA Members
Albany Singles Golf Association was started by Ann Graziano and Cheryl Wison to bring single golfers together. The first meeting was held in March of 2001. The group has grown from 8 charter members to over 50 members plus many more nonmember "friends" who participate in our events. As a member you can help shape our Albany ASGA Chapter. Regular membership meetings held monthly are used as a forum to make announcements and plan for new local and national golf outings and social events.
